Only minutes from the main street of Montville, The Blak Shak is the perfect getaway for couples or solo travellers. Fully self-contained, this modern, luxury cabin on Gubbi Gubbi land offers a place to escape, surrounded by nature in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. While the cabin shares acreage with our main home, it is orientated to face away from the house and overlooks green surrounds to provide you with the utmost privacy.

As you walk in the front door, you’ll be greeted with incredible views of the forest through the giant picture window. Listen to the beautiful birdsongs throughout the day or the chirp of the frogs at night. Firewood is provided so you can warm up in front of the fire, either inside or out by the firepit. There is also a reverse-cycle air conditioner for quick heating or cooling.

Kitchen:

Pull up a stool and hang out around the kitchen. As well as a kettle, toaster, coffee press and loose-leaf tea and teapot, the kitchen has a stow-away induction cooktop, integrated dishwasher and a bar fridge with ice. Warm up snacks or meals with the microwave / grill oven or fire up the Weber BBQ. Help yourself to the Blak Shak's herb garden with a variety of herbs to add to your meal. Under shelf lighting helps illuminate your workspace while in the kitchen.

Bedroom:

Throw open the barn doors and relax in the Blak Shak bedroom. Sink into the feather pillows, soft, bamboo-cotton sheets and linen covers on a feather-topped, memory foam queen bed. Wake up to the sunrise gently glowing through the sheer curtains or close the blackout blinds and curtains and sleep in as long as you can. Gaze out to the treetops and enjoy a hot cuppa on your private deck overlooking the forest.

Breathe in the smell of the forest as you soak in the tub. The bathroom boasts a freestanding bath as well as a shower. Enjoy the beautiful aroma of the Aesop bath products, snuggle up in the provided bathrobes and use the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer during your stay. Enhance your experience with the complimentary bath salts or immerse yourself in the simplicity of pure rain water.

There’s plenty to do if you decide to stay put in the Blak Shak, with books to browse, games to play or art supplies to create a masterpiece! Stretch into your favourite yoga poses and meditate on the provided yoga mats or head out and explore our beautiful area. Enjoy a day of shopping in nearby hinterland boutiques and markets or immerse yourself in nature at one of the many national parks, magical waterfalls and scenic trails.

Although the Blak Shak shares the acreage property with our main residence, the cabin was designed with guests’ peace and seclusion in mind. Nestled amidst the lush greenery of the hinterland, the Blak Shak offers a sanctuary where you can truly unwind in your own private haven. With separate driveway, parking and entrances and dedicated outdoor spaces, you’ll have ample opportunity to relax and immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the deck, exploring the backyard and gardens or stargazing from the sandstone blocks around your private firepit, you can enjoy the great outdoors during your stay.

ARRIVING AT THE BLAK SHAK

Enter the dedicated Blak Shak driveway from the main road and enjoy private parking for two cars. A short walk along the gravel walkway will bring you to the front deck of the Blak Shak. As our treehouse is tucked into the hillside on this sloping block, there are several stairs from the footpath to the main property entrance. We will meet you upon arrival to show you around and get you set up with your own personal code for the keyless entry to the Blak Shak.
